Each year creative people from around the country gather with us in Barnardsville, North Carolina (10 minutes north of Asheville) to build fake UFOs that must fly. The winner gets a nice prize, and the contest helps us discern between fact and fiction when analyzing UFO images. This year's event will be bigger than ever! For the first time, we will have a DAYTIME competition as well as NIGHTTIME competition. Therefore, the event has doubled in size and fun. Men like Jeff Wilson and Jim Robison have mastered the art of fooling the eye during the night, but what about in broad daylight? This is an extra special challenge. As usual, the event is FREE and open for all. If you want to build a UFO, there are only two rules: it must be safe and it must fly. This year's event will be held noon to midnight on Saturday, September 12, 2009, at the Big Ivy Community Center in Barnardsville, NC. Put it on your calendar now, and email me if you plan to build a UFO (no entry fee) or would like to donate a prize to the winners (I'll promote you).
